Rampini Painting Demonstration Saturday, Feb 4th 10:00 AM to 5 PM
Giampietro Rampini, Master Ceramicist from Gubbio, Umbria, Italy will be visiting with us in St. Michaels in the shop on Saturday the 4th February. He will be demonstrating his painting techniques as he creates a new design for us. This will be Rampini's fourth visit to St. Michaels since we have opened, and he is looking forward to seeing many customers he has met previously and also to meet new friends.
Rampini welcomes customer custom requests, and is often painting special pieces for private collections and events in Gubbio. He recently was asked to paint a special Gubbio Christmas Tree platter to present to Pope Benedict XVI on the 7th December to commemorate the Pope's lighting of the Tree this year (www.alberodigubbio.com ). What an honor - we are so happy for Giampietro and his family! He also painted a large Gubbio Tree platter for the Christmas in St. Michaels Raffle this past December.

Umbrian Wine Dinner -
Saturday, February 4th at 7PM
The Big Pickle, St. Michaels, MD.
We are partnering with the Big Pickle for our Umbrian Wine Dinner and will host the dinner gathering upstairs in a private setting. Giampietro will present slides and talk to us about his work, new plans for his designs, and his life in Umbria. Our multi-course Umbrian dinner is as follows, accompanied by a selection of Umbrian white and red wines, and of course our favorite Caravello Limoncello with dessert:
Capocollo, Pecorino and Mixed Bruschetta
Umbrian lentil soup with Ham and Parsley
Fresh Ricotta Over Baby Spinach and our Favorite Pear Balsamic
Cipriani Tagliardi with Truffle Sauce

Umbria Trip for New Year's Eve
Ed and I are planning a trip for group travel at the end of this year so you all can see the World's Largest Christmas Tree in person (it is amazing) and to visit our favorite spots in Gubbio, Assisi, Deruta, Montepulciano and Rome over New Year's at the end of this year (travel on Dec.29th, return the 6th of January). If you are interested in going with us, let us know and we will keep you posted on the details as we finalize them. The trip will be for those who love Ceramics, Food, Wine, Shopping, Italian history and culture!
