Liguria Italian Riviera Zoom Wine Dinner Event with Guest Speaker from Italy

Join us on Saturday June 26th as we continue our virtual tour of Italy and we visit for the first time in our dinner series to Liguria, the Italian Riviera. We are excited to be tasting Durin Wines, a winery seated in Ortovero (SV) in the Arroscia Valley, established in 1978 by Antonio Basso, which embodies the third generation of wine growers in his family. The growing of the first vines can be traced back to the Twenties and, to the present day, they range up to 18 hectares of steep terraced vineyards in the Arroscia Valley. Our guest speaker will be Laura Oliveri Basso, owner with her husband Antonio of the winery, joining us from Italy.

The 4 grape varietals we will be tasting are unique to the DOC areas in Liguria, so once again these will be new for many of us. It is so fun to try new varieties and expand our palates as we virtually visit this new region to our dinner series! And the Durin wines will be featured for the first time on the Eastern Shore with our Wine Dinner.  

We have planned a delectable menu of foods paired with the wines that are typical of this region. In Liguria, the food is all about Olives, Pesto, Trofie Pasta, Tomatoes, Olive Oil, Seafood, and more, we think the menu, wines and our Guest Speaker all together will deliver a memorable experience for you!
