Join us on September 18th for another fabulous Italian wine dinner as we visit Sardinia, the first Blue Zone in the world, with wines from Audarya, with the Co-Owner Nicoletta Pala and Russ Lorber, Importer. We are so excited to visit Sardinia again with this new vineyard to us with new varietals to introduce to you. Details of the menu and pricing are listed below. Audarya Nuragus di Cagliari Doc 2020 - A rare, ancient variety difficult to find outside of Sardinia. Audarya takes great pride in its Nuragus, a historic grape unique to southeast Sardinia. This brilliant wine is crisp but soft; fresh citrus and peach, floral, and elegant. Pair with seafood and a beach view.
Audarya Monica di Sardegna Doc 2019: Our choice for a versatile, food-friendly red wine. Pair with seafood, poultry, red meat, pizza, grilled or roasted vegetables. Medium body with good complexity. An ancient varietal unique to Sardinia; produced with love and dedication by the Pala family.
Audarya Cannonau di Sardegna Doc 2019 - Southeast Sardinia in a glass. Audarya’s version is a pure expression at 100% Cannonau. Stainless steel aging brings out the sunny days, sea breezes, and minerality of the land. Pepper character and bright, ripe red fruit. Good with cured or grilled meats and aged cheese.
Audarya Nuracada Bovale Isola dei Nuraghi Igt 2019 - Award-winning indigenous Sardinian variety. Winner of Gambero Rosso's prestigious “Tre Bicchieri” designation, this Bovale brings spice and ripe/preserved red berries. Excellent with roasted meats, tagliere, and relaxation.
About the winemakers:
Audarya, a word meaning “nobility of the soul” in an ancient Sardinian language, is a winery launched by sister and brother Nicoletta and Salvatore Pala. Along with their father Enrico, who brings 70 years of viticulture and winemaking experience, they are dedicated to producing wines from grapes native to the Serdiana region of southeast Sardinia. Their emphasis is on expressing the terroir of their lands, taking good care of their vines and minimizing cellar intervention. They have quickly built Audarya to prominence, gaining recognition from Gambero Rosso for all their wines, along with the coveted Tre Bicchieri designation for the Nuracada Bovale.
