About the Event

We are so excited to welcome Giuliano Hazan, Italian cookbook author and educator, to Trattoria Simpatico for 2 very special cooking classes and Wine Dinners, the first is Saturday, June 29th, 5 to 8 PM  and the second is Sunday Pranzo, June 30th, 12:30PM to 3:30 PM. Giuliano teaches his special courses in Sarasota, FL, Verona, Italy and Tuscany, Italy, and now adding St. Michaels!  

Please join us for a 4 course cooking class with wines paired for each course. Giuliano will prepare each course and then enjoy the food and wine with you at our intimate family style long tables. Our Resident Chef Dawn McLoughlin, will work with Giuliano as they prepare this very special experience for all attendees. The wines have been chosen to complement the foods Giuliano will be preparing. You will feel like you are in Italy! You will be immersed into our Italian experience as we learn together and enjoy talking with Giuliano about his cooking and his life in Italy and the US. About Giuliano Hazan

Italian Cooking Teacher and Cookbook Author

Giuliano is the only child of Marcella Hazan, the doyenne of Italian cooking, who introduced Americans to authentic Italian cuisine with her landmark book, TheClassic Italian Cookbook. Giuliano’s true passion has always been teaching authentic Italian flavors. He has done this in his many books, starting with The Classic Pasta Cookbook, an international bestseller with half a million copies in print which was nominated for the coveted James Beard Award. He has also traveled the world, teaching the flavors and philosophies of Italian cooking to appreciative audiences at the Smithsonian Institution in DC, luxury cruise ships sailing around the world, and as far as Japan. In 2007 the International Association of Culinary Professionals

named him Cooking Teacher of the Year. He has appeared on national television several appearances on the Today Show. Together with his wife, Lael, he runs an acclaimed cooking school in Italy featured on the Television FoodNetwork and  Gourmet Magazine and ranked in the top ten in the world by major media outlets including Food & Wine Magazine.
