About the wines, taste any 3:
Luciano Landi Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Doc Classico 2019: This wine punches way above its weight in quality for price. From the hills of the medieval Jesi in Marche, Italy. Crisp, with orange, wildflower, and almond, it is very food friendly. Pair with cheese, seafood, braised meat and game, or pasta.Centopassi "Terre Rosse di Giabbasco" Catarratto Sicilia Doc 2018: Award-winning, organically grown. Recognized as a “Tre Bicchieri” (3 Glasses) wine by Gambero Rosso, this complex white wine is tart lemon, tropical fruit, orange blossom, baked bread, and wet stone. A great summertime wine that pairs excellently with grilled seafood.Luciano Landi “Gavigliano” Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Doc Superiore 2016: Unique burst of fresh-cut violets. Lacrima is a native grape of Le Marche. This great value medium-bodied wine has an intense floral component complemented by baking spice. Pair with roasted or grilled meats and vegetables with fresh herbs.Spinsanti “Adino” Rosso Conero Doc 2016: Woman owned and produced, with tremendous complexity. A blend of 90% Montepulciano and 10% Sangiovese, this ruby red wine shows red fruit notes of cherry and plum with intense aromas and rich tannins. Excellent with roasted and grilled meats and vegetables. Catia Spinsanti does it again!
We hope to see you at Simpatico in our outdoor courtyard "Piazza" to explore these amazing wines! Cin Cin!
About Russ Lorber: In 2013, I set off on a path of demystifying the wines of Europe–a section of stores and wine lists that I previously avoided. This path rewarded me with an understanding of what wine really is…a centerpiece of gatherings with families and friends; something to facilitate celebration. When visiting family wineries in Europe, I found the experience to be like an invitation to a family gathering, and I admired the passion of the winemakers for their craft. I launched Wide Roots, a wine import/wholesale company based in Baltimore, to bring the essence of this experience to more wine drinkers, hoping to help them in unlocking this world much the same way that I did for myself. I am certified by Vinitaly International Academy as an Italian Wine Ambassador, have achieved Level 2 with distinction for Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), and have passed Court of Master Sommeliers Level 1. My prior experience includes operations management, finance, and supply chain.
